RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Quintus - 04-04-2011 Please proceed to Step 2 of the guide I referred you to, wherein the use of a tool is involved. Do not go into Step 3, though. Proceed to removing ESET if you haven't done so. RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Brandenx781 - 04-04-2011 I have removed ESET Security. I have gone to Step 2 in the guide where ATF-Cleaner is involved, and done the steps. Should I proceed with downloading a new anti-virus? I meant this guide, please execute the second step and no further. You have to use the clean-up tool. After doing so, please download a new Anti-Virus. RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Brandenx781 - 04-05-2011 Oops. Done and Done. Used the McAfee tool remover and removed it, rebooted my system, and downloaded Avast! anti-virus, although the trial wears off in 30 days RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Quintus - 04-05-2011 There is a free version. Should I link you? RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Brandenx781 - 04-05-2011 OH WAIT. I'm dumb. I had to register the program for the free license didn't I? Haha, Deltron told me to register for the free license, I was like "OH" RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - John* - 04-06-2011 Scan it with Malware Bytes, and make HiJackThis log. And post here the logs. RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Quintus - 04-06-2011 (04-05-2011, 11:55 AM)Kaix781 Wrote: OH WAIT. I'm dumb. I had to register the program for the free license didn't I? I see. You are all settled then. RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Brandenx781 - 04-06-2011 Thank you for all your help Also, I would like to ask. Since you are in the "HJT Squad" I was wondering, how long did it actually take you to fully read and interpret HJT logs to find out what is bad and what is good in the logs? I heard that HJT is a very great program to use when it comes to removing malware and etc, but then I heard that only "Experts" should be allowed to use them since you might screw up. I would like to take interest into learning but kinda don't know where to start. RE: Think I have a RAT on my comp - Justin - 04-06-2011 HJT is a very good program, I want to learn more about it as well. |
