Threat Kit: Lightweight Pen Testing Distro - killerdoob420 - 01-15-2011 Threat Kit
Threat Kit is a project i have been working on recently, its a live linux based OS intended for penetration testing, unlike other similar distributions Threat Kit is designed to be lightweight and minimal. Threat Kit is based on Xubuntu 10.10 so it uses the XFCE desktop environment which is more lightweight and has better performance than some of the bigger DE's such as Gnome and KDE. In addition to the base xubuntu programs, Threat Kit also includes a number of tools for facilitating penetration testing:
Threat kit also includes some extra applications not directly related to penetration testing:
There are also some extra goodies included in the /extra directory, right now only a wordlist for dictionary attacks and a Threat Kit wallpaper. Its in alpha right now but if you want to try it anyway: ThreatKit-alpha.iso You may notice some(most) of stuff is still branded xubuntu, I assure it will be changed in future updates. Anyway im looking for people to join the Threat Kit team, so if you're competent with programming, penetration testing, general linux or graphics and want to help out PM me.
