Check These Registry Keys - Win - 11-26-2010

If you suspect that you have a virus, along with scanning your computer, you should check these registry keys for suspicious files:

Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceEx

To open regedit, open up CMD, and type 'Regedit'.

Post if this helped Smile

Note: I wouldn't recommend that beginners modify registry keys, as it can corrupt your system.

Note that a beginner user may not know how to edit registries and can cause some failures and possible BSoD.

I wouldn't recommend that a beginner modifies Registry keys, as it can corrupt your system if you delete/modify the wrong ones.
