RS Servers are a great way to learn Java, but I'd still recommend going through some TuTs aswell.

I have heard the Runescape Private Servers were a relavitely easy way to learn Java since it's so hands on. Java is also quite easy to learn if your dedicated, but its kind to help others.

I wouldn't say it's easy to make money from RSPS, and the only way you can make money is if you have a dedicated server with plenty of bandwidth + an 'entertaining' server.
Is it possible to modify your account to a member by using javascripts?
RSPS are currently only written in Java or C(++)(?), its not a web application.
