I'm starting up a small little studio but I'm on a budget being only 16 without a job.
I could come up with a couple hundred from parents for this.
But could anyone recommend some monitors that are both affordable and good quality?
You can't go wrong with KRK RockIt's. I personally have a pair of RockIt 6's that I use on a daily basis. They aren't cheap, but the prices are fair and the quality is top shelf.
checked up on ebay. price isn't too bad.
may be manageable.

I was thinking about these as they are cheap and seem popular:

any pros or cons that you know?

Behringer is an excellent company as well. They knock-off the high-priced professional stuff and sell it for cheap. Now, don't get me wrong. Just because I said "knock-off" doesn't mean they're cheap. Behringer makes high quality products.

I registered at a big home studio recording forum and realized that behringer is actually hated by a lot of audio engineers. They were steering me to the same KRK's you suggested
