Ok so I have a great idea for a useful site and already have the financial backing to take it to the next level when that time comes. The problem is the site is going to have to run off of SQL or some database. I have absolutley no experience in this genre and it's my reaponsibility to create the model for presentation. Where do I begin? Any tips, tricks, basic how-tos would be much appreciated.

Also, my first thread here. I must say I've been looking for a general purpose tech support forum with good members. This meets all my criteria. Yay!
What are you going to be doing?? Selecting, updating, inserting, joining tables...?? W3Schools is a good place to get the basics under your belt.
What do you need a Database more?
Think along the lines of something like UrbanSpoon.
