Lately I've been so emotionally unstable and just one negative thought can release an onslaught of depressing thoughts and I don't know how to handle it. I've thought meditating and thinking rationally. I am generally a rational person and can see how to fix my psyche problems, however, this time I'm fearing I might need some outside help.
Any suggestions on how to make head shut up, without alcohol and drugs..?
To be clear, are you hearing actual voices? I'm just making sure it's not schizophrenia. However, seeking outside help is a great idea. In the mean time try listening to some music and relaxing. It's never as bad as it seems.
Meditation would be step one and some ambient music to help you relax and clam down.
Play music when you sleep, Just get some nice headphones and play some calm tunes as you sleep.
There's a good TEDTalk about this kind of stuff:

Worth watching even if you're not having the extreme issue yourself as it's a good insight on how your body can react to this kind of stuff.
