I prefer cats because that's what I been raised with. But now I have nothing and dad is allergic to both, so we can't get any more animals. Oh well.
I like dogs more because i have been around dogs ever since i was a baby so thats probably why.

I was raised with a cat as well. I had him for 14 long years. I now have a new cat and a dog. They are both great pets to have, I just think a cat is nicer to own, have always loved cats.
My dog and cat get along well with each other though, so really in the long run, they are both great animals to own.
I like smaller dogs & dogs that don't shed.

I love both for different reasons, Cats because, like you said, they are independent, they tend to be softer, and they will lay down by you and enjoy a nap. I love dogs because, it is nice to have some responsibility and to be able to take care of the dog and dogs tend to be more playful and active. Overall I chose dogs, but I sitll really enjoy cats.

I have had dogs and cats. I liked my dogs better because I think they are more fun/funny
