When you get older 3 years isn't that big of a difference, but when you're 16, 3 years is a world of a difference. I'm sure there are plenty of girls your age that you could go out with.

I think it was a good idea.
It might not seem like a lot, but you should tale into account that 3 years is almost 1/5th of your life.

I know this girl at my school who has just turned 14, she is going out with a 20 year old.
So 3 years difference is not that bad :3
